Armed Forces involved in aiding the flooded low-lying areas of Shkodra

Albanian Armed Forces are being engaged for several days in coping with flooding situation in several villages near the banks of the Buna River in the Shkodra Municipality.
The 1st Infantry Battalion in Vau i Dejës is mainly operating in the village of Obot of the Administrative Unit of Ana e Malit in the Municipality of Shkodra. The high water level has made it impossible for city car class vehicles crossing the road that connects the village to the center of the administrative unit and the city.The Armed Forces truck class vehicles have assisted the transportation of the inhabitants by enabling they to reach the main road and made it possible for the pupil to go to school.
Meanwhile, the Regional Support Battalion Unit of Support Command came to the assist the Obot village inhabitants which making available for them 3 sailing vehicles.
Also, the Armed Forces, in cooperation with the Shkodra Prefecture, have distributed food packages and drinking water to the flood-affected villages in Ana e Malit and Dajç Administrative Units.
The 1st Infantry Battalion and Regional Support Brigade personnel continue to remain in the area, helping the movement for cars and are closely monitoring the situation until its full improvement.
