The modernization of the Armed Forces, Xhaçka: Even the Air Force through Reformation Process

"The Air Force, as the rest of the AAF, nowadays in NATO, is going through a reformation and modernization process, to increase performance and capabilities in our airspace. The peculiarity of the military profession is commitment and readiness to sacrifice their lives. Despite the force they belong to, and the front they serve, just at the first moment a military wears a uniform, he undertakes the solemn engagement to be ready to serve the homeland, by sacrificing what is most sublime, the life for the nation, people and his country. This solemn engagement of a soldier forces all of us to commemorate with respect all the sacrifices of those who lost their lives at a young age, but also to all the others who serve to our homeland and who have taken over risks that affect their lives, and the pilot's profession remains one of them. Of course, training, tactics, the use of other elements that have been added or improved over time have reduced the probability of accidents", - said Xhaçka

Subsequently, the Minister together with the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Farka Air Force Base Commander, Colonel Kuto Hasani as well as family members and relatives of the Martyrs, placed wreaths and bouquets of flowers at the memorial dedicated to the fallen pilots in Farka Air Base.

The Nation’s Martyrs, Captain Floran Delia and Lieutenant Donald Hoxha lost their lifes while on duty two years ago, as a result of a crash of the helicopter EC 145, in Grizhë of Malësia e Madhe during a training flight, where one of the crew members, the PR2 Gerald Baramuça was injured.
