Starting from today, a new pavilion has been added to the Museum of the Armed Forces.
A pavilion dedicated entirely to our National Hero opened in the Museum of the Armed Forces in the framework of the Nationwide Year of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg.
Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Deputy Chief of General Staff Brigadier General Manushaqe Shehu, the Member of Parliament of Albania Vullnet Sina, as well as many senior military and guests were present at the inauguration of this new pavilion.
Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka described this pavilion as very interesting and mentioned the engagement of the institution she leads in the activities of the year of Skanderbeg. “The Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces are engaged with all their capacity in the framework of the Nationwide Year of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg which coincides with the 550th Anniversary of the Death of our National Hero. The Museum of the Armed Forces adds today a new, interesting pavilion dedicated to the National Hero. This pavilion is just an attribute of our commitment to Skanderbeg Year, while, months ago, the AAF contributed to the rehabilitation and maintenance of Martyrs’ Cemeteries and cultural monuments in all 12 districts of the country. In addition, we are all witnessing the fact that the Armed Forces are everywhere in every case the security of life of community is threatened and successfully coping with situations in our country during bad weather, confirms this”, - said Minister Xhaçka, who also announced the change of the image of the two ceremonial structures in the Armed Forces. “I have the pleasure to point out that very soon in the framework of the commitments for the Year of Skanderbeg, the Guard of Honor and the Wind Orchestra of the Albanian Armed Forces will have a completely new and dignified image to represent the country where the National Hero has been one of the greatest war strategists. History and facts testify that when the best values of our tradition are screened into the future, the present is more promising”.
Items related to our National Hero, weapons used at that time, maps and emblems of Arbër Principalities and many other documents are exhibited in Skanderbeg Pavilion at the Armed Forces Museum.
