USA Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell receives Minister Xhaçka

Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell, received today in an official meeting the Defence Minister, Mrs. Olta Xhaçka.

The meeting took place a few minutes after the official statement by the EC, which didn’t pass without being congratulated by Assistant Secretary of State Mitchell who said that today is a day to celebrate.

The US Assistant Secretary of State also praised Albania's contribution to NATO, saying Albania is a reliable USA partner and a warrantor of security in the region.

On her part, Minister Xhaçka said that by 2024, 2% of GDP will be allocated to Defence.

This meeting follows up several official meetings that the Defense Minister is having in the USA being invited by US Secretary of Defense James Mattis.
