The Ministry of Defense and the Municipality of Tirana plant 4,000 saplings, Xhaçka: Homage to the fallen militaries

The Ministry of Defense joined this weekend the action of the Municipality of Tirana for the greening of public spaces by planting 4,000 pine saplings near Prush Lake.
Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, congratulated Mayor Veliaj for the model he has brought to the Municipality of Tirana, giving a valuable contribution for the future generations.

"It is a great pleasure for me to join you in this beautiful and extraordinary model that you are promoting, but of course all together, to give Tirana what you so well called it:" Treasure of next generation”. We have actually come here today on behalf of the 8,000 Armed Forces effectives who year after year engage in such campaigns of greening and afforestation not only of our military units, but also of the communities near them and schools, neighborhoods or public spaces in these residential areas, near our military units. Today, we have also come here for a special symbolism because today we have planted 42 seedlings as a sign of love, respect and gratitude for our 42 heroes, 42 Nation’s Martyrs”, - said Minister Xhaçka.

At the end of her speech, Minister Xhaçka assured the continuing commitment of the Armed Forces to support such positive initiatives for the community.
"This is not just an isolated endeavor, we want to support the community, we want to be closer to them, to take care of our common wealth. As you do with your example every day, we will be engaged year after year, together with the Armed Forces, in such campaigns and will support you whenever you need this extraordinary initiative that you are doing for the next generations ", declared the Defence Minister .

Mayor Veliaj thankedall the military forces for their contribution and emphasized that the planting trees are only part of a series of investments that will affect the Vaqarri Park to turn it into a genuine recreational facility and attractive for the residents of Tirana.

"During the weekend our friends from the Army opened over 4,000 pits, where over 4,000 trees were planted in an area of Prush Lake, in Vaqarr, very near Tirana. As we are transforming Farka Lake or Kashari Lake, which have been turned into the discharge valve for the urban parts of Tirana, we also foresee this change for Kombinati by the end of this mandate and then in the other mandate, we will turn the area of Prush Lake into a relaxing falicity for them. ", - added Veliaj.
