Peacekeeping missions, 30 AAF effectives seen off by children

The departure ceremony of the 8th Contingent, which one left this Friday from Vau i Dejës to Kabul, Afghanistan was very special and exciting. The children of the1st. Infantry Battalion staff in Vaun Dejës were the special visitors. They celebrated June the 1st with the military men and transmitted a lot of emotions in the ceremony of seeing 30 military effectives to Afghanistan off.

In his greeting speech, Deputy Defence Minister Koçi congratulated the children and expressed his pride that the Armed Forces are everywhere ready and work hard for a better future for the children.

“Since we are committed to the fact that the future of our people should be strong, vital and safe, I call on the Albanians to bear many children, as that is in the best of the nation, as that is in the best of Albania," - he emphasized.

Deputy Defence Minister Koçi, addressing to the 1st IB's effectives, said that Albania in its own modest financial resources continues to contribute and expand its international missions within NATO framework, but without affecting the level of treatment of the military in these missions.

“We are deploying 30 men in Afghanistan today, and within a few days we will even send an additional contingent. Finally, the Government made the decision to increase our participation in the missions in Afghanistan. Because we want to show the world that we are not a NATO country just in number, we are not in NATO simply for a flag presence, we are in NATO to contributing in first place, putting in high risk our effectives in delicate missions", - concluded his address Mr. Koçi.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku once again requested all the young people of the community to join the AAF because there they will find the right place to serve the homeland, to show who they are as well as train themselves physically and intellectually, as well as have the opportunities for qualification and education.
