Dibra City Council honors the Captain of the AAF: Gratitude for the sacrifice of every serviceman in uniform

Dibra will always remember Captain Floran Delia, the Air Force pilot, who lost his life in an air crash two years ago. At a ceremony held in the Palace of Culture in Peshkopi participating members of his family, colleagues and citizens of Peshkopi. Captain Floran Delia was honored with the title "Honor Citizen" (posthumous), resolution of the City Council.
The Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka during her speech said that the commemoration of the fallen AAF Heroes is at the same time a deserved attention for the Albanian military men.
"This solemn commitment that I have to take personally in the quality of the Defence Minister obliges us all to remember with great respect the sacrifice of all those who no longer live. At the same time, it is also a commitment to honor all servicemen serving the Homeland, who risk their lives in exercising the very honorable profession of the soldier and the dangerous profession of the pilot", - said the Minister in her address.
The Defence Minister thanked the citizens of Dibra for this gesture: "Our gratitude goes to the citizens of Dibra for this generous but well deserved act of gratitude for our Hero. Honoring Floran, you have honored the contribution of each of the 8.000 AAF servicemen working for the security of the country and the lives of every citizen of the Republic of Albania."
By a resolution of the City Council, the Ceren - Radomirë Road will be named after the captain, born and raised in Dibër.
Captain Floran Delia and Lieutenant Donald Hoxha, fallen on duty on April 6, 2016 during a training flight to Grizhë, Malësia e Madhe. Both militaries were declared "Martyrs of Homeland" by the State Commission for Martyrs.
