The Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) open the doors for high school students, in order to spend summer days near the Military Units to look closely and to become part of the everyday work of men and women in uniform. The first group of young people was welcomed in the premises of the Land Force Garrison in Zall - Herr. In the frame of "Youth - Talent - Opportunity - Dignity" special mission, they became part of the AAF during a week.

The young participants were greeted by the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka and the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Mrs. Lindita Nikolla. The Defence Minister congratulated the youngsters for participating in this one-week event, inviting them to consider their future in the AAF.

"Today we have almost 300 people working in NATO headquarters and other security and peace organizations with which we cooperate all over the world. We have Military Attachés in 10 NATO countries; many people working abroad, representing the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania. It is a career that gives you the opportunity to grow and prosper enough to move forward," - emphasized Minister Xhaçka, who stressed the opportunities offered by the Armed Forces to any profession.

"A good professionist is not only just a good soldier, he can be everything: can be also a good engineer, lawyer, economist, accountant, doctor, and nurse in the AAF. I have the impression and it is displayed by anyone who has a military training. The military profession is what everybody needs to have it as a key to success in life," - said Minister Xhaçka.

Minister Nikolla highly appreciated this program, as it will also serve to the aim of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth regarding career counseling. "I am quite sure that these young man and women wearing the AAF military cap today, and many others, who will join this experience in the future, finally will say that this is one of the best feelings that the education and the school have them provided. I am also happy, that today they are going through also the mission of the Ministry of Education i.e. advising on their career. I wanted to reinforce that these days; you will be familiar with the great opportunities that a career in AAF offers, and perhaps tomorrow for any or many from you this will be a choice", - said Minister Nikolla.

The first group of youngsters led by Commando and Special Forces instructors became part of the basic training of two elite units of the AAF. They practiced jumping from towers, attacks on buildings, patrols in residential areas, and confronting violent protesters.

They also visited the Museum of the Armed Forces located in the premises of the Scanderbeg Garrison, next to the MoD.

The program "Youth - Talent - Opportunity - Dignity" is conceived as a summer school for young people at Land, Naval and Air Force structures of the Albanian Armed Forces. Through theory and practical training in the field, high school students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on military life, how to work in a military garrison, how to use weapons, physical training, legal basis, where AAF is supported and functions, etc.
