Help for orphaned children, Xhaçka: Military personnel has a small salary but a big heart

The Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces Museum opened their doors today for 100 orphan children. On the eve of the beginning of the new school year, the employees of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces joined the initiative of the Albanian Red Cross to assist these children. They donated school bags and supplies.

During the visit to the military museum, the children and their relatives were greeted by the Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka, who wished them for a new and successful school year. She assured the children and their families that the assistance towards them will continue and that the Ministry of Defense of the Armed Forces will continue to cooperate with the Red Cross to help these families.

"Our servicemen may not have a big salary but they have a big heart. They work and sacrifice with love for their homeland and I am convinced they will also find the opportunities to do their utmost to help our loved ones who are here today with us. I am delighted that our support through the contribution of the MoD and the Armed Forces personnel, the Red Cross has translated into the most meaningful and the best possible gift for this school year. This school bag contains all the teaching equipment you will need for the school year and is a great chance to do well in school and to become someone in life. I am convinced that one day you will be our pride in all areas of life, "said Minister Xhaçka during the meeting with the children.

The Albanian Red Cross praised the contribution of the Armed Forces and identified the 100 children that would be part of this contribution, which will continue as a co-operation between them and the Ministry of Defense to assist families or children in need.
