The DECI initiative gathers Chiefs of Staff in Tirana at its seventh conference

Chiefs of Staff of Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania met in Tirana at a conference in the framework of the Defense Cooperation Initiative (Initiative DECI). Its purpose is to increase cooperation and add the contributions to the Alliance and the European Union.

In the ongoing meetings, topics like the challenges currently facing the region are being discussed, which mainly are relate to ideological and religious radicalism, massive illegal migration, economic instability, and so on.
Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku during his opening speech briefed the participants in the conference on the challenges facing the region "Unpredictable Tensions, Illegal Immigration, Violent

Extremism, Radicalism and External Influences in the region, we seek common understanding and cooperation as well as a coordinated approach to face the challenges we have in front of us.” - said Kollçaku.
While Chief of General Staff of the Republic of Italy, General Claudio Graziano, after thanking Brigadier General Collins for his hospitality, stressed the importance of this meeting under the ability to meet the lack of capacities which NATO is currently facing.

At the end of the conference, it was signed the "Joint Declaration", which was reflected in the achievements of the Initiative countries, and further commitments under increasing cooperation and increase military contributions to the Alliance and the EU.
This is the seventh time that chiefs of staff gather to discuss for the same reason and Chief of Staff of AAF, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku is the host of this even welcoming his counterparts.
