The "South East Europe Military Intelligence Chiefs' Conference (SEEMIC), in cooperation with the Defense Intelligence and Security Agency (DISA), and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), was held today in Tirana.
Present at this meeting, the Deputy Defence Minister, Mr. Petro Koçi said that: "Given our common history, our common culture and values as well as a common geostrategic position, Albania attaches great importance to SEEMIC, as well as our cooperation with NATO and the USA. By acting together sustainably, we contribute to peace and security in our part of the world”.
Mr. Koçi emphasized that "Cyber security is a matter of great importance nowadays driven by technology. It poses a lot of threats that could endanger our national security. Cyber-attacks, as part of non-kinetic attacks, are becoming more and more widespread, dynamic and clandestine with each passing year."
"I strongly believe that security is best built together with others. This is an essential principle in Albanian security and defense policy. Only by working together we can make significant progress”, - concluded Deputy Minister Koçi.
The main purpose of this meeting is discussing the topics agreed at the 10th meeting of the Expert Working Group, held in Tirana about “Critical Infrastructure Challenges and Cyber Security Challenges in the South East Europe Region".
