“Kompaktësimi 2018” Exercise: AAF reconstruct 16 km of rural roads, Xhaçka: We help the community even through exercises

The Armed Forces have begun the “Kompaktësimi 2018” Exercise, which, in addition of preparing and training the Engineering Battalion Effectives for carrying out works with heavy vehicles on mountainous terrain and difficult weather conditions, also comes to the help of the community.
During this exercise in the Administrative Unit of Muhurr in the Municipality of Dibra, the Armed Forces engineers tested the capacities for immediate reactions during civil emergency cases and at the same time improved rural infrastructure in the area.
Defence Minister Olta Xhaçka closely inspected the “Kompaktësimi 2018” Exercise and congratulated the engineers not only for being part of this exercise, but also for reconstructing 16 km of rural roads from Muhurri to Selishtë. "Carring out these exercises is the common way to teach the profession to our younger officers, to accomplish the mission of the Armed Forces, but also to highlight and emphasize civil-military co-operation and to assist the community. Actually from this exercise is benefiting the whole region by improving the infrastructure, connecting schools and health centers, and facilitating the movement of residents from here to the main axes, as it is a pretty isolated area and winter can also be very harsh”, - said Minister Xhaçka among others.
The exercise “Kompaktësimi 2018” also serves for the preparation training of the new Military Engineers in the Armed Forces.
The rural segment Muhurr-Selishtë, reconstructed by the Engineering Battalion, is about 16 km long and besides of facilitating the movement of the forces and means of the Armed Forces, also facilitates the movement of the residents in the area.
