The Senior Course on Security and Defense Studies graduates, Xhaçka: Reflection on the security challenges of 21-st century

 

Training and Doctrine Command successfully completed 10th Senior Course on Security and Defense Studies. Ten high rank military and one civilian from 9 different countries such as Albania, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Greece, Germany, Italy, Montenegro and the United Kingdom, attended for three months the course reserved to high rank military and civilians in the field of Security and Defence.

Defence Mınıster Olta Xhaçka, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, Commander of TRADOC Brigadier General Bajram Begaj were present in the graduation ceremony of the participants.

Minister Xhaçka appraised the importance of this course which year after year expands the map of the participants in it: “Now, looking at the statistics of the 10 courses, I'm happy to notice that this course has shaped and consolidated its profile, not only regionally, but even wider. Throughout the years, in these courses have graduated 168 military and civilians from Albania and 15 different countries in the region and beyond.” , - said Minister Xhaçka. 

Minister Xhaçka defined the participation of 11 military from different countries, as an added value to better understand and face the new challenges of security of the recent years: “We all are aware that strategic environment today is evolving at a rapid pace and a variety of threats, are sometimes simultaneously present, hence the need for cooperation by being together in NATO, EU and is a must to address common challenges and achieve common goals. We also need to understand this evolving security environment and identify the trends, in order to make sure that decisions we are to taking today, are to be fit for tomorrow and I would also like to emphasize that bringing together 11 students from 9 countries, is the biggest achievement of this course and shows how closely we are working together to make our countries and our region safer and more secure.”

The 10th Senior Course on Security and Defense Studies was held from September 10th and ended today on December 7, 2018. Throughout the course, the participants took lessons from representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in our country and from the heads of the institutions in their respective field of Security and Defense.

The participants also organized visits to various national and international institutions.
