Declaration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces

An unpleasant situation was recorded yesterday at the Pashaliman Marine Base, where an armament depot was damaged.

From the very first moment, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, through all its subordinate structures and in close cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, the State Police began to reveal the causes of the incident, within the Pashaliman Base.

The Military Police transferred the files for investigation to the Judicial Prosecution Office in Vlora against five suspects: "For violating the rules of service within important premises". Moreover, they are charged with the criminal offence of "Theft."

The administrative investigation initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces is ongoing. In addition, all measures are being taken to ensure that any responsible person be punished for any act or omission under the laws in force.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces condemns the act but at the same time ensures that this sporadic case has not undermined the security, readiness and operationality of the Naval Force.

Once again, we point out that the irresponsibility of any individual, whether they are members of the Armed Forces, cannot blemish the figure, the devoted model and the sacrifice of the Albanian Armed Forces.
