Defence Deputy Minister Koçi: 27 years from establishment, Military Police transformed

Today the Military Police celebrated the 27-th Anniversary of its establishment.

Defence Deputy Minister Petro Koçi, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku, and the leaders of the MP participated at the ceremony held on this occasion.
In his speech, Defence Deputy Minister Petro Koçi emphasized the progress and transformation made by the Military Police during these years. Also, Koçi added that the role of the MP will also be essential in securing the NATO Base, which will be built in Kuçova.

"The Alliance's decision to set up the Air Base in Kuçova is a new vote of confidence from our partners, not only for the political and military role of the Republic of Albania in our region, but also an appreciation for the progress of reforms in the contemporary development of our Armed Forces, in all structures, including the Military Police which will certainly be of particular importance in securing this base."


Present at this event, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollçaku said that the Military Police has shown consolidation and dynamism in carrying out all the tasks assigned in these 27 years.

"For more than a quarter century journey, we appreciate the Military Police as a success story in facing difficulties and challenges in activities and tangible contribution to supporting the entire journey and success of AF’s activity in country and abroad," concluded Kollçaku.

The Military Police was established on 1 February 1992 as an indispensable structure for maintaining order and security in Armed Forces.
