Comprehensive Regional Ministerial

14-16 October 2014

The Comprehensive Regional Ministerial was held in Budva, Montenegro (14 - 16 October 2014) including three formats:

October 14 - Western Balkans Defence Policy Directors meeting - WBDPD,
October 15 - U.S. - Adriatic Charter chaired by Albania, and
October 16 - South-Eastern Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) chaired by Romania.

 

Minister Kodheli chairs U.S. – Adriatic Charter (A-5) Ministerial

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli chairs this meeting, since our country holds the A5 presidency.
Defence Minister Kodheli thanked the participants, representatives of the member countries of the Alliance, the ally countries, as well as the United States for the continuous support given to this important regional initiative.
Focusing on the topics of discussion of this meeting, which closes an important agenda of activities for 2014, Mrs. Kodheli said that regional cooperation in Security and Defence, in front of various threats, is very important for our countries. Read more…

Minister Kodheli at the SEDM meeting

The main topic of discussion was the strengthening of cooperation between member countries of this initiative in function of stability and security of the region, in front of the significant geopolitical developments.
During the Ministerial, Minister Kodheli held several bilateral meeting.
Initially, Minister Kodheli met the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Eurasia, Ms. Evelyn N. Farkas.
Defence Minister Kodheli had a meeting with the Minister of Defence of Montenegro, Mrs. Milica Pejanović - Đurišić.
Minister Kodheli had also a meeting with the Minister of the Kosovo Security Force, Mr. Agim Çeku.
Minister Kodheli had a special meeting with the Turkish Minister of Defence, Mr. İsmet Yilmaz. Read more…
