Luisa Gega wins the Bronze Medal at 7th CISM Military World Games in China

The flag bearer of the Albanian Armed Forces team, Luiza Gega, achieved a historic result at the 7th CISM Military World Games 2019 taking place in Wuhan, China, climbing the podium in the 3,000 m steeplechase race.

In this final, Luiza ran along with four finalists of the IAAF World Athletics Championships - Doha 2019. She also reconfirmed the Olympic Time norm at 9'26" for Tokyo 2020.

Given that these games are the largest sporting event in the world after the Olympic Games, this is a great achievement not only for the Armed Forces but also for Albania.

Major Bledar Messi also scored well in the men's 3,000m steeplechase placing himself at 10th in his heat, with the time 10'21”.

In coming days Luiza Gega will run the women's 1500m and captain Renato Dorzi the 42km Marathon.

Congratulations to the AAF team!
