Albania–Japan: Strengthening dialogue and cooperation in Defence and Security

The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Albania, Mr Ermal Nufi, met with Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense, Mr Yohei Wakabayashi. The two officials exchanged views on international and regional security developments, as well as opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations in the fields of defence and security.

“Albania regards Japan as an important partner and welcomes the expansion of cooperation in defence and security through the exchange of expertise, stronger ties between our institutions and Armed Forces, and joint activities.” - Minister Nufi said following the meeting.

Defence Minister Nufi also emphasised the importance of building new bridges of cooperation between the two countries:

“From humanitarian assistance and peace-support operations to strengthening resilience against emerging security threats, our objective is clear: to build new bridges of cooperation and an ever-stronger partnership between Albania and Japan.” - he underlined.
