Senior Course on Security and Defense pays a visit to the General Staff of the Armed Forces



In the framework of the academic program of the Senior Course on Security and Defense (SCSD), aiming to introducing to the participants the important institutions of the Albanian Armed Forces, a visit was conducted in the premises of the General Staff. 

Initially the course participants were received by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Kollçaku. During the meeting, Brigadier General Kollçaku praised the positive development of the course and the commitment of the participants so far. In particular, he focused on participants from the countries of the Region: “We are grateful for your participation in the course, a special thanks and appreciation goes to your respective countries, for their positive and successful cooperation in creating opportunities for you to attend the highest level regional course on security and defense.”


In addition, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces made a summary of the objectives focusing on the areas of education, training, modernization and logistics in the Armed Forces, as well as engaging in fulfilling the objectives of the force and making efficient use of defense resources, to be a decent NATO member.

Further, the participants of the Course, through a presentation, were introduced with the mission of the Armed Forces, tasks, actuality, short-term and long-term plans, the contribution that the AF make to missions abroad, within NATO framework, and the role they play in coping with civil emergencies in our country.

SCSD, as the highest institutional course in the field of Security and Defense in the military education system, in line with the aspiration to move to the next phase of NATO accreditation, has improved its teaching curricula. The lectures held by ambassadors to Albania by NATO member countries, as the German one, British, Italian, Turkish, French, or Dutch, as well as representatives from international institutions such as NATO's Security Force Assistance Center of Excellence, Marshall Center, etc., had served to the mission of this course, which concerns training on a politic-strategic level of military ranking from colonel and civilians, being members of the Armed Forces or security institutions of the Republic of Albania and regional countries.

The lectures on the respective countries’ perspectives in the current developments of South East Europe countries, which are attended with particular interest by the trainees of SCDS, serve best to share ideas, exchange experiences on different issues, mainly focused on the field of security and defense, not only for Albania, but also for the countries of the Region.
