In response to the ongoing wildfire situation in the south of the country, the Albanian Air Force has intensified aerial surveillance operations, ensuring continuous monitoring, day and night, over the most affected and high-risk areas.
A Bayraktar TB2 drone, operating from Kuçova Air Base, is providing real-time data on the spread and intensity of the fires. This intelligence supports:
Preventing the further spread of fires;
Coordinating rapid deployment of helicopters and ground units;
Notifying law enforcement authorities in cases of suspected arson.
Through this advanced monitoring capability, the Air Force is playing a key role in the efficient management of the emergency, working to protect lives, property, and the natural environment.
