Minister Vengu visits Northern Infantry Regiment: Committed to enhancing service conditions

Defence Minister Pirro Vengu visited the Northern Infantry Regiment in Vau i Dejës, joined by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, and the Commander of the Land Force, Major General Ilir Xhebexhia.

 

During his meeting with the new recruits, Minister Vengu underlined the Ministry of Defence’s dedication to improving service conditions. “You will soon receive new uniforms and equipment, while accommodation facility projects are already in progress.” he noted.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of creating long-term opportunities for young people choosing a military career. “We are committed to helping every soldier advance their professional journey within the Armed Forces through ongoing training and education.” he said.

From 2023 to 2025, more than 126 million ALL have been invested in the Northern Infantry Regiment, focusing on infrastructure upgrades and better working environments for troops. Currently, a new facility is under construction, with an investment of about 157 million ALL. Total planned investments are expected to reach over 284 million ALL by 2026.

These efforts mark a significant step toward modernizing and enhancing the operational capacity of the Northern Infantry Regiment, in line with the strategic goals of the Albanian Armed Forces.
