USA assists AF coping with flood, Peleshi: We are increasing the response capabilities

 

Armed Forces are going to be better equipped for coping with the flood. USA Government has donated to Albania Armed Forces new and modern equipment in order to cope with flood more efficiently.
The USA ambassador handed over the equipment to the Chief of General Staff Bajram Begaj and the Support Command Brigadier General Ndriçim Sallaku.

Defence Minister Peleshi thanked USA for the donation and pointed out that this new equipment will increase the reaction capabilities of AF toward natural disasters. “It is a significant gift to us, and to Albanian citizens who are facing a difficult situation, created by the intensive rainfalls. These equipments will increase the capabilities of the National Agency for Civil Defence and the Support Command facilitating the search and rescue team responding more effectively to the increasing number of emergencies, and also help preserving the life of AF personnel on their significant and rescue job. I express my gratitude and thanks to Albanian Republic and the United States of America for its persistent, generous and unreserved support to Albania and Armed Force.” , - stated Minister Peleshi.
USA Ambassador in our country praised the work of Albanian AF during floods and appreciated the cooperation between the two countries.

The new equipments are manly water rescue equipments and tools used in emergency cases. Assistance includes dinghies, generators, dehumidifiers, sandbags, flood radios, first aid kits and portable fans.
