Minister Kodheli during her official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held a meeting with the Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. During that meeting both officials discussed about the relations between the two countries and the need to deepen their cooperation in important areas of common interest.
Since the beginning of their discussion the Deputy Crown Prince emphasized the fact that both countries are very good friends, but so far they never had before any cooperation or relation in the military field and this visit is a very good start for that new relation. Minister Kodheli said that Albania, although a small country has a great contribution to the security and stability in the Balkan area. "We must fight our common enemies, we should be together regarding important issues and values", - underlined Mrs. Kodheli.
The Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was focused on the developments in the Middle East, where he highlighted that this area has series of problems. "There are countries that have declined, countries that are declining as well extremist ideologies, as a result, all these are reflected in the whole world", - he said. Also the Deputy Crown Prince stressed that should cooperate even more in understanding the causes of radicalization and that Albania is an important country as it is also a member country of NATO.
The Albanian Ministry of Defence shared the conviction of the need to build more bridges between the two worlds and the moment when we improve the economy and education of our population as well as strengthen the cooperation with the best friends in the world we will significantly reduce the presence of terrorists.
During her stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, minister Kodheli visited different military and security structures.
