Our Naval Force ships of Butrinti and Orikum conducted a three-day Joint - Exercise at the estuary of Vjosa - Gram and Vlora Bay, with “FGS RHEIN”, NATO’s Standing Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2) flagship, part of the German Naval Force
The purpose of this exercise was to increase the interoperability between ships and crews during different sea conditions.

Over the 3 days of exercise conducting, the respective ships and crews carried out maneuvering to protect the group of ships from a rapid attack; protect force from a watercraft while anchored; supply at sea; conduct various maritime maneuvers; deliver mail; or even supply from ship to ship.
Part of the German "FGS RHEIN" ship stay in Vlora was the welcomed ceremony of its commanders by local authorities and the visit of citizens and media on its board.

“FGS RHEIN”, NATO’s Standing Mine Countermeasures Group 2 flagship, left our territorial waters to sail towards La Spezia in Italy.
SNMCMG2 is a component of NATO Response Force. Operationally, SNMCMG2 reports to the Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM), which is one of the constituent Commands of the Allied Command Operations.
