FA rescue the massif pine trees from the fire in Surroj of Kukës

After many hours of effort, the Kukës Regional Support Detachment managed to extinguish a large fire that engulfed the pine massif in the hills of the Surroj administrative unit.
Local firefighters and Kukës municipality firefighters participated in the fire extinguishing operation.
Extremely rugged terrain prevented fire trucks from interfering, while high temperatures made it difficult for firefighters to intervene on the ground.
The fire in the massif pine trees was initially located to be extinguish completely in the evening.

According to the General Directorate of Civil Emergencies, during the summer season, until August 21, 2019, 83 fires were registered nationwide, employing around 100 vehicles, and about 800 forces, including firefighters, AAF, municipal employees but also volunteers.
In total around 617 ha of bushes, thorns, pastures were burnt, including 130 ha of pine.
It is worth noting that out of 83 fireplaces, only 1 is reported as intentional, the rest of the fires are caused by carelessness or various factors.
