Minister Kodheli pays homage to Colonel (R) Mehdi Pogaçe

Under the direct auspices of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff, today at noon, it was paid homage, at the lobby of Armed Forces Museum, to the life of Colonel (R) Mehdi Pogaçe, President of the National Association of Reserve Officers.
At the homage attended hundreds of former militaries, their families, current militaries and civil employees of the Armed Forces, etc.

On this occasion, Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli paid homage and placed a wreath honouring the life and deed of Colonel Mehdi Pogaçe. The Chief of General Staff, Major General Jeronim Bazo, MPs of the Parliament of Albania, Prime Minister Adviser, Brigadier General (R) Sandër Lleshi, generals, and senior officers of the Armed Forces also paid homage placing wreaths near the lifeless body of Colonel Mehdi Pogaçe.

Defence Minister Kodheli and Major General Bazo also left notes in the Book of Condolences.
Then, the lifeless body of Colonel Mehdi Pogaçe was escorted with the Guard of Honour and by funeral marches of the Armed Forces Wind Orchestra.

Colonel Mehdi Pogaçe was a commissioned officer, who has carried out important tasks and he was distinguished for his seriousness, professionalism and exemplary behaviour with colleagues, subordinates and superiors. After the retirement in reserve, Colonel Pogaçe committed and made special contribution to the National Association of Reserve Officers. From March 2007 and onwards, he was elected President of the Association, making his contribution protecting the interests of the militaries in reserve and especially their integration in the NATO’s Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers, being elected in 2009 as vice president of this organization. Mehdi Pogaçe was also elected vice chairman of the National Veterans Committee of the Anti-Fascist National Liberation War.
