Academy of Armed Forces together with the University of Tirana signed an agreement that aims the establishment of an institutional framework of cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research. At the agreement ceremony held at the premises of the University of Tirana Rectorate, also attended the Defence Minister Mrs. Kodheli, who expressed her outmost appreciation for achieving this agreement. Learning and teaching, instruction and education, schooling should be, the same as it is for every nation, the salvation of the Albanian nation and without it we cannot and should not go anywhere.

Nowadays being a professional army, it is mandatory the requirement of increasing the educational level of our Armed Forces. Educational opportunities that are given to people in uniform for studying at best military worldwide academies, does not detract anything to the need of cooperating with the University of Tirana, especially when it comes to more in-depth, advanced studies as it is the case master and doctorate programs. Today the Albanian Army is an army several times smaller than it was in the past, and this makes mandatory the necessity of specialization and the acquisition of specific knowledge, which increases the costs of MM and the Academy in particular. This cooperation could facilitate this financial burden that our academy experiences today. In this way, we will liberate several procedures which have remained blocked due to the inability of these PhDs or Masters, to be completed at the Academy. "- said on this occasion Minister Kodheli.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of the Academy of Armed Forces Colonel Ruzhdi Kuqi and Rector of the University of Tirana, Mr. Dhori Kule, who emphasized the mutual benefits of the two institutions of higher education, deriving from the establishment and development of relations and cooperation. The agreement signed today provides, inter alia, exchange of academic staff for teaching in the subjects of the modules of common interest, qualification of academic staff by organizing seminars, workshops, scientific conferences, scientific mentoring, organization of joint programs, transfer of research and programs according to the needs and common interest, cooperation on joint academic publications and periodicals, use of libraries by academic staff and students of both institutions, etc.
