On the 8th Anniversary of Albania’s Membership in NATO, the sculpture of the headpiece of our National Hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg, a work of art by sculptor Dhionis Dukoli, was placed in one of the gardens of “Skanderbeg” Garrison. Defence Minister, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Brigadier General Dedë Prenga, the sculptor, Dhionis Dukoli, and military and civilians who work in this garrison were present in this event.

In her speech Minister Kodheli thanked the sculptor, Dhionis Dukoli, for the present and also mentioned the special day on which it is placed in this garrison. “The installation of an artistic piece of art, a present by an honoured citizen and artist, who expressed his desire to donate his work, Skanderbeg’s headpiece, our National Hero, to the Ministry of Defence is an action that we welcomed and we placed it with pleasure in one of the most notable places within the “Skanderbeg” Garrison. Honourable Mr. Dhionis, I thank you from my heart for the dedication and generosity that you have shown by offering us this present. I hope that your work has its proper place and I firmly believe that for years we together will remember that we have placed this sculpture here in a very special day, on the 8th Anniversary of Albanian’s membership in NATO” said Mrs. Kodheli. The Defence Minister awarded the sculptor Dhionis Dukoli the certificate of gratitude. While receiving the certificate he said that he felt honoured for the place his work was installed and for the appreciation shown by Minister Kodheli.
