Minister Kodheli meets Senator McCain

Defence Minister Mrs. Kodheli and Ambassador Donald Lu hosted US Senator John McCain at "Mother Teresa Airport,"

Defence Minister Mrs. Mimi Kodheli informed Senator McCain, during his stay in Rinas, about the progress made in the field of defense and our country's commitment to continue in this direction, convinced that we are on the right track.

Senator McCain met the Albanian military personnel trained by different programs of the US government.

During their conversation, Defence Minister once more brought to attention the missions Albanian Armed Forces are involved starting from the mission in the Aegean Sea, to the missions in Afghanistan and continued with joint exercises with allies.

Minister Kodheli also focused on the contribution of our country as part of the global coalition against ISIS, a contribution which she considered the appropriate one and for a right cause.

Albania gives its contribution in the peacekeeping mission Resolute Support in Afghanistan and was among the first countries to join the international coalition against ISIS, under US leadership, and provides an active contribution to this coalition.
