Press Release

The Ministry of Defence clarifies the public and the Democratic Party that last week, Mrs. Mimi Kodheli chaired the Adriatic Charter Ministerial held in Budva, Montenegro. During her stay in Montenegro, Minister Kodheli met the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for Eurasia, Ms. Evelyn N. Farkas, the Turkish Defence Minister, Mr. Ismet Ylmaz, the Montenegrin counterpart, Mrs. Milica Pejanović-Đurišić, the Minister for the Kosovo Security Force, Mr. Agim Çeku, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia, and many other representatives of the countries participating in the Ministerial.

On the weekend, the Minister of Defence had a meeting with Senator Chris Murphy. All these activities are made public.

We urge the Democratic Party to get informed before making ridiculous statements that not only aim to misinform the public, but also show Albania as an irresponsible country in international forums.

We clarify the public that Albania is not part of the Euro-Asia Forum, therefore, no representative of the Ministry of Defence or of the Albanian Government has participated in it.
Meanwhile, we urge the newspaper “Corriere della Sera”, as well as the Albanian media that have published this news, to deny it or otherwise, they will face legal consequences for defamation, a process our legal representatives are dealing with.
