Initiative USA - Adriatic Charter, Albania leads the meeting of representatives of eight countries

Under Albania's presidency, a significant meeting convened in Tirana, as part of the US Initiative - Adriatic Charter, bringing together representatives from eight nations.

Chaired jointly by Mr. Gjergji Methoxha, the General Director of Defense Policies, and Mr. Petrika Jorgji, the Director of NATO in the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the joint meeting of the political directors of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense took place.

On March 8th, International Women's Day, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi extended his heartfelt congratulations to all women serving in the military. Through a video showcasing moments from various exercises where women and young ladies are seen actively participating alongside men, Minister Peleshi expressed his deep appreciation for their invaluable contributions.

"Happy International Women's Day to all military women! Your unwavering dedication and sacrifice for both your families and the defense of our nation are truly irreplaceable." - Minister Peleshi conveyed, as he presented the accompanying video. The video concluded with a resounding message: "We conquer every challenge!"

At nowdays, approximately 20.35% of personnel in the Armed Forces are women and young ladies serving in both uniformed and civilian capacities.

NATO Tactical Air Base is inaugurated in Kuçova, Peleshi: Major investment, asset for the entire region

The NATO Tactical Air Base in Kuçova was inaugurated today. The ceremony held on this occasion was attended by the highest leaders of the state: President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, Speaker of the Parliament Lindita Nikolla, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, Chief of Defence of AAF Major General Arben Kingji, senior representatives of NATO, ministers of the member countries of the Alliance, Defence Minister of Kosovo Ejup Maqedonci, ambassadors, military and ex-military.
In his speech, on this occasion, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi said that Kuçova Air Base is one of NATO's biggest investments in Albania, which will serve as a tactical and operational air base. Mr. Peleshi emphasized that the base has the necessary capacity to support joint efforts in the region for natural disasters: "The favourable geographical position can turn this country into a valuable connecting node for all the countries of our region. In this context, the help and support that Albania can provide for the neighbouring countries makes us feel more valuable than ever before, but also more committed than ever before to be at the right height in front of every situation." – said the Minister Peleshi.

During the High-Level Meeting between the Governments of Albania and Turkey, Defense Minister Niko Peleshi: Gratitude for the support in the modernization of the FA

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi was part of the Albanian government delegation, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama, during their visit to Ankara, Turkey.
During the visit, the Military Framework Agreement was signed between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, involving the Ministries of Defense of both countries.
