Secretary General’s Annual Report sets out priorities to shape 'Future NATO'
Investing in the right capabilities, maintaining connected forces and deepening and widening cooperation with partners are key to shape a NATO which is able to meet future challenges said NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen at the launch of his Annual Report on Monday (27 January 2014). “In September we will meet in Wales to shape Future NATO: an Alliance that is robust, rebalanced and ready to provide security for the next generation,” said the Secretary General.

In the framework of the Comprehensive Regional Ministerial 2013, which is taking place in by Brdo, Slovenia, Defence Minister, Ms. Mimi Kodheli, took part in the Defence Ministerial, U.S-Adriatic Charter (A-5). The Adriatic Charter Defence Ministerial (A-5) was opened by Montenegrin Defence Minister, Mr. Milica Pejanovič Đurišič, chair of the meeting of this initiative. Initially, the participants were addressed by Slovenian Defence Minister, Mr. Roman Jakič, who expressed his satisfaction for the full participation of all the ministers of the Adriatic Charter member countries.
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania approved the Strategic Defence Review document. It is the most important document for security and defence, and it was drafted at a time when Albania is an ally country of the North Atlantic Treaty. This document is an analytical assessment of the current and expected environment of security and defence, it identifies national interests and objectives, it is the analytical argument on the role of the Armed Forces in this environment, on the quantity and quality of capacities they need to have according to possible scenarios of their use, as well as their organization inside a modern and reliable force for the accomplishment of the constitutional mission, in the framework of collective or separate defence.
