The chairmanship of the Adriatic Charter, Albanian’s priority is expanding US- Adriatic Charter initiative



The implementation of the Open Door Policy to expand the US - Adriatic Charter initiative in the region and beyond, for the states that fulfill the conditions for membership, will continue to be one of Albania’s priorities during the Chairmanship of the Adriatic Charter.

That’s what the Departament of Defence Policie Director, Florian Kali, said during a meeting in Tirana with the Defence Policie Director of the USA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia as well as the observer states in this initiative, Kosovo and Slovenia.


Kali emphasized that Albania will continue its efforts for the full rights membership of Kosovo.

During the meeting was also discussed for the joint engagement in NATO peacekeeping missions and operation and the security challenges that the South East Europe is facing.


At the meeting were brought into attention the main activities in the political, military spectrum and joint exercises held in Albania in 2019, during our chairmanship of the Adriatic Charter.

The meeting of Defence Policie Directors precedes the meeting of Defence Ministers of the Adriatic Charter that will be held in December of this year.
