Armed Forces Academy has been accredited as higher educational institution, Xhaçka: we are laying the foundation for a Defense and Security sustainable modernization

Armed Forces Academy will regain its function as an institution of the higher education, and this year the Academy opens the doors for those who want to study in Security and Defense.

This news was made public by the Defence Minister Xhaçka on the occasion of Teacher’s National Day, celebrated with the professors and course participants of the Armed Forces.

Considering the Academy as a vital structure of the Armed Forces, minister Xhaçka evaluated that its accreditation as an institution of higher education will ensure more quality recruitments for human resources of Security and Defence in Albania.

"It's a really big event not just for us, but for the team that worked so hard to make it a reality. The institution has a key role in our project to modernize and professionalize the Armed Forces. I know very well what a great weakness this has been for the further advancement and development of the Armed Forces. This Academy is one of the most important chain links of the entire defense and security structure in Albania. This will allow us to recruit the most capable and talented youngsters in our ranks. So let's recruit more and better. This is a moment of genuine joy. It is a moment of legitimate pride. We know what hard work took us to get here. And we also know that through this hard work we have laid the foundation of something more lasting than the careers of any of us here in the Armed Forces or in Defense. We have laid the foundations for the sustainable modernization of defense and security in Albania,” Minister Xhaçka said.

The main objectives of the Academy will be to support the Armed Forces with sufficient human resources to fulfil the constitutional obligation regarding the National Defense and Security, to fully align military education with the national education system, and to align it with the military system of NATO countries.
The incoming will be students from high schools who have passed the state exit exam, both for students who will be sent to military academies abroad and for those who will attend the AF Academy.

The Academy of the Armed Forces, which will open its doors in October this year, is the only public higher education institution in the field of National Defense and Security.
