Covid - 19 situation, Ministry of Defense and the foundation “A different weekend” deliver 45 ton of food in Shkodra.

A few days after the delivery of about 208 packages to families in need in Shkodra, the Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka and members of the Armed Forces came back again in this city, where in cooperation with the foundation “A different weekend” delivered to the local authorities 45 tons of food for the most affected families by the situation of COVID - 19.

In handing over these aids, the Defense Ministe, together with the Prefect Çesk Millja, the Mayor of Shkodra Voltana Ademi and representatives of the Clergy, emphasized that the families in need have been identified and the aid will be distributed immediately.

First of all, I would like to thank Arbri, the Foundation "A Different Weekend" for this extraordinary help he has provided and for the colossal work he has done all these weeks. Today we came back again in Shkodra Region. As we were here a few days ago to help 208 families that are part of the economic assistance scheme, and specifically the large families and those with children under the age of 18. This time we came back together with "A Different Weekend" who have actually offered to our humanitarian operation, all their energy, all their extraordinary solidarity", - said Xhaçka.

Minister Xhaçka underlined that through the humanitarian operation initiated by the government and coordinated by the Ministry of Defense, with all other actors together, it has become possible to help 186 thousand citizens and families in need.

The Mayor of Shkodra, Voltana Ademi, assured that the distribution of aid will be carried out as soon as possible following all the criteria partin from the families who need it the most.

Arbër Hajdari, Head of the Foundation "A Different Weekend", praised the commitment and coordination of the Ministry of Defense for the distribution of aid throughout the region of Shkodra.
