MoD’s Press Release on COVID - 19 cases within the ranks of the Armed Forces

Ministry of Defense (MoD) informs that 3 members of the Albanian Armed Forces (AAF), part of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), have been tested positive for COVID-19. The 3 officers were infected while on duty in the KFOR mission, and are part of the contribution of 29 AAF personnel in this operation.
According to NATO guidelines, if military personnel representatives in mission of one of the member states of the Alliance come out positive with COVID-19, they must be repatriated.
Based on this NATO directive, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces took measures to have them back home and treat them according to the protocol established by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
From the contacts so far, the 3 effectives have not shown any problematic signs for their health. We would like to inform you that the rest of the AAF contingent in the KFOR mission, so far enjoys full health.
