The Armed Forces are engaged every day of the week in guaranteeing the implementation of the measures taken for the period of COVID -19 pandemic. As a sign of gratitude for the work done, Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka posted a video, showing moments from the work in the terrain of men and women in uniform: "The deepest gratitude to every man and woman in uniform who today are committed 24/7, helping people in need and ensuring compliance with the measures against COVID - 19, instead of staying home with their family and children in these difficult times. With enormous respect, “Pride for the Armed Forces!” - says Minister Xhaçka.
Major Bledar Bimaj, Military Police, says that his checkpoints and patrolling the most of the time were in Tirana:
"What comes to mind is a beautiful expression that a serviceman from the unit that I command told me: 'Commander, I'm glad we have done the right choose with our spouses, the partner of our lives. They are the ones who take care of the family. 'When we go back home, the children can hardly wait for us, they want to throw themselves into our arms. This is the most beautiful moment of the day, even though we try to sneak into home, the children come and say, "Spiderman came in", - says Major Bimaj.
Sergeant Festim Harizi, Regional Support Battalion, has been part of the AAF for 12 years, and says that this is one of the most difficult missions. "I am a Unit Commander in the water platoon. I have participated in many disasters, but this is much more difficult than what we have done so far, really", - said Sergeant Harizi.
Military women are also part of the operation. Corporal Eriselda Shema, Air Force, appreciates the role of military women.
"I believe that each of us has been affected by the pandemic, but what I believe is that it is much more difficult for the family members because whether we want it or not all the stuff, emotions, and everything we experience during the day is transmitted home. Although most of us tries to leave the experiences of the day behind, you still can't avoid it. "Military women symbolize strength and kindness at the same time."
