The queue in Kakavija border-crossing ends, Xhaçka: During the last 24 hours 3,325 citizens and 1,629 vehicles passed the border

Shortly after midnight, the queue ended in Kakavija border-crossing, where for days the citizens have been waiting in long queues, thus creating a tense situation. The Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka informs that during the last 24 hours, 3,325 citizens and 1,629 vehicles passed through Kakavija border-crossing. At 00.40 this unusual situation ended, when the last citizen passed.

Meanwhile, the Defense Minister expressed gratitude for all the structures engaged in this operation in these difficult days.

During these days, the Armed Forces have been relentlessly engaged in assisting passengers at the Kakavija border-crossing. Over 200 members of the Armed Forces have served overnight to citizens, distributing water and food.

"Deep gratitude to all the structures engaged in these difficult days. Gratitude to the members of the Armed Forces, the State Police, doctors and nurses and local government leaders and employees, who managed the situation with perseverance, patience and teamwork!” - writes Xhaçka.

Starting from today in Kakavija border-crossing will not pass more than 750 people, while in Kapshtica border-crossing 300 citizens will be the limit number. Meanwhile the citizens must implement the new rules.
