Dozens of military personnel of the Armed Forces have been busy day and night, extinguishing fires, which have covered entire areas of woods and pastures in eight regions of the country.
Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, while posting photos of the work of the personnel on Facebook, confirms the support of the Armed Forces from the ground and from the air, but in cases where, according to the law, the local government has exhausted all its capabilities.
“The flames caused by man, rather than by the high temperatures, have affected entire areas of woods and pastures in 8 regions of the country. Dozens of members of the Armed Forces, equipped with special tools and clothing against fires, were engaged in various operations in Fier, Shkodra, Vlore, Tirana, Lezha, etc., day and night, to put out fires, which apparently did not compromise the safety of residents in these areas.

The commitment of the Armed Forces from land and air will be timely in all cases in which, according to the law, the local government will have exhausted all its capabilities in people and means”, - writes the Defense Minister in her Facebook post.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Civil Protection Agency, Haki Çako, inspected the situation created on Tarabosh mount in Shkodra. In a statement to the media, Çako demanded the strengthening of the law on the punishment of perpetrators of arson, while urging citizens to be careful not to cause irreparable consequences, not only for the common economy, but also for the humanity.
