Flooding in Shkodër, Armed Forces aid the local population

With the intensification of the rain and the increase of the water level in nën-Shkodra area, the Armed Forces have increased their efforts in aiding the local population using sailing vehicles from the Regional Support Battalion and high vehicles from the 1st Infantry Battalion.

The AAF personnel assisted in the transportation of the local population regarding their daily routine, and evacuation or transportation of people with health problems. Such was the case of a 5-year-old girl who needed medical aid. The troops of the Regional Support Battalion helped with the transportation from Obot village to the main road, where an autoambulance was waiting.

Since 8th of January the AAF are present in Dajç and Ana e Malit and are in readiness to aiding the residents in this area.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also helped with the distribution of food for livestock.

At the same time, the National Agency for Civil Protection is coordinating the work between the Armed Forces, State Police, the Prefecture and the Municipality of Shkodra to cope with the situation.
