Decisions of the Civil Protection Committee regarding the situation created at "Mother Teresa" Airport

The Civil Protection Committee met online to discuss the problems created at "Mother Teresa" International Airport and about the necessary measures to normalize the situation.
The Minister of Defense Niko Peleshi, at the same time the chairman of the Civil Defense Committee, after getting acquainted with the concerns created in recent days at the International Airport "Mother Teresa", due to the boycott of Alb Control controllers, noted that Pursuant to Law 45/2019, dated 18.07.2019 "On Civil Protection", Rinas International Airport is considered critical infrastructure, moreover according to Article 43, it is considered critical infrastructure with cross-border effect.
On the proposal of the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, the Civil Protection Committee decided that the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy take the necessary measures to make the air traffic control operational, even by replacing if necessary, the removed controllers with new local or foreign controllers.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, in the framework of the created situation, was tasked to determine the minimum license criteria according to international standards as well as any other criteria necessary to start flights as soon as possible.
The Civil Aviation Authority was instructed to take all necessary measures for the gradual resumption of air operations and, if necessary, to rapidly license air traffic controllers in accordance with the order of the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy.
