Mortar fire and sniper shooting, Peleshi and US Ambassador Yuri Kim attend joint exercise in Bizë

The Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, accompanied by the US Ambassador Yuri Kim participated in one of the exercises of the American and Albanian troops in Bizë.

As part of the "Defender Europe 2021" exercise, the troops of the Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFABs) and those of the Second Infantry Battalion conducted a series of demonstrations. Some of the demonstrations were: mortar firing, sniper shooting, team attacking action, target hitting and ambush.

At the end of the exercise, the Defence Minister expressed his congratulations, those of Prime Minister Edi Rama and those of the Albanians to the Albanian troops engaged in Biza for the distinguished representation of the Albanian Armed Forces in this important exercise.

"We are very proud of your work. You are lucky that we are conducting one of the largest exercises in the region. We are doing our best to fully integrate with our American counterparts, making us more self-confident while testing our abilities. "You are demonstrating every day that we deserve being a NATO member even by the standards.", - said the Defence Minister, Niko Peleshi.
