Innovation at the Academy of the Armed Forces, official visit of the Defence Minister Peleshi, to Estonia

 


On June 2nd and 3rd, Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, paid an official visit to Estonia, at the invitation of his counterpart, Defence Minister Kalle Laanet.
Mr. Peleshi thanked Mr. Laanet for the hospitality and expressed his gratitude for the extraordinary diplomatic support of Estonia for Albania.

Defence Minister praised Estonia as one of the countries that clearly states the necessity of the integration of the Western Balkan countries into the European Union, considering the process of negotiations opening as very essential for peace and security in the region.

Both Defence Ministers praised their respective contributions and participation over the years, with a significant number of troops, in NATO, EU and UN –led missions. They reaffirmed their position to continue to support any decision the Alliance takes on Afghanistan, after the completion of the Resolute Support mission, as well as any other decision expected to be taken at the Brussels Summit, focusing on NATO's agenda. - 2030.

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi highlighted the commitment to intensify bilateral relations in the field of defense with Estonia. The conversation was particularly focused on the possibilities to support courses and trainings of Albanian personnel at the NATO Center of Excellence for Cyber Defense, as a new challenge for Albania.

After the meeting at the Estonian Ministry of Defense, the Albanian delegation paid a visit to the Baltic Defense College in Tartu, Estonia, where the possibilities of cooperation and exchange of experience with the Armed Forces Academy in Tirana were widely discussed.
