Fire on the Karaburun Peninsula, approximately 500 FA troops on the ground

The Armed Forces have been engaged since the early hours of this morning in the extinguishing from the flames operation onto the Karaburun Peninsula with approximately 500 servicemen, 50 vehicles, 3 helicopters, firefighters and ambulances. The flames continued to be active overnight, becoming a danger to the residents of Dukat village. The efforts have been going on for hours from the ground and from the air to control the flames, to inhibit the advancing towards Llogara Park.

Another active hearth is located in the village of Cukal, Shllak Administrative Unit, Vau Dejës Municipality, where a fire broke out in an area with various shrubs and trees. The local Firefighters Service of Vau Dejës is at the scene and is working to extinguish the flames.

Efforts are also continuing to bring under control the fire that broke out in the village of Qesorat, of the Administrative Unit Lunxhëri, in the municipality of Gjirokastra, where together with the employees of the fire service of this region, 20 members of the Armed Forces are present. While working to extinguish the fire in the Dukat area, other troops were transported by helicopter to Sherik, Karaburun, at an altitude of 1200 m above sea level to neutralize the fires that are a threat to Llogara Park.
