Current situation in the country, 2 critical wildfires, 8 are under monitoring.

After almost two weeks “fighting” wildfires, today marks the quietest day. Thanks to the Armed Forces, firefighters and Civil Emergencies at the local government, it has become possible to extinguish many aggressive fires in different areas of the country.

Today, through coordination with the National Agency for Civil Protection, 15 fires have been extinguished, but there are still another 10 active. The wildfires in Karaburun and Maja e Rrunes are hotspots with higher intensity. At Maja e Rruna, the helicopter has made it possible to reduce the aggressiveness of the flames and the dwellings are not endangered.

In the district of Vlora, Karaburun Peninsula, the hearth has been kept under control to prevent the passage to the Llogara National Park. The outbreaks have been eliminated in most of the affected area and currently there is no risk.

8 other wildfires in: Finiq municipality (Vlora), in the village of Vermosh (Shkodra), in the villages of Thirrë, Domgjonaj, Munellë (Lezhë), in Dropull (Gjirokastër), in the village of Klysyrë (Tropojë), in the village of Bardhaj (Dibër) as and in Koder - Sharra (Tirana) are under control and will be monitoring during the night, to prevent the spread of flames coming from changes in climatic conditions.

It is expected that with the intervention of 3 helicopters that arrived from the Netherlands and the Czech Republic as part of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, all wildfires will be extinguished.
