Current wildfire situation in Albanian Republic, 19 August 2021

Lezha Region
1. Mirdita Municipality, Fan, Thirrë, there is intense smoke and strong wind in the area, as a result, military personnel find it difficult to carry out their operation from the ground, even so the situation is not problematic, and there is no danger to the inhabited areas and Kalimashi tunnel. AF and the local firefighters are still working on the ground.

2. Mirdita Municipality, Rubik, Katund. The situation today is at ease without endangering the apartments. AF and local firefighters are trying to normalize the situation.

3. Mirdita Municipality, Fan, Munellë dhe Domgjon. The current fires are not posing any risk and are being monitored.

4. Lezha Municipality, administrative unit of Kolsh, Patalej. The fire is isolated at 95%. The situation is under control and the local government employees are still working.

Shkodra Region
1. Pukë Municipality, Fushë-Kumullise, Qershizë – 40 troops of AF and 25 local government authorities are engaged to normalize the situation, and no risk is present at the moment

2. Fuzhë – Arrëz Municipality, administrative unit of Blerim, Flet village – The wildfire affecting Kryezi has been isolated. Whereas 40 AF and 25 municipal forces are working on the other side.

3. Shkodra Municipality, Gur i Zi – The fire is currently isolated as the Ground Forces have created dividing barricades. They are keeping the situation under control and their work is underway for final extinction. 30 employees from the Postribë were engaged.

Kukës Region
1. Kukës Municipality, Maja e Rrunës – The fire is been active for 15 days and is heading Shëmri village. Helping to normalize the situation is the helicopter form the Netherlands. AF Troops, local government employees, and volunteers are still working on the ground.

2. Municipality of Has, Golaj, the fire in Nikoliq is extinguished.

Elbasan Region
1. Prrenjas Municipality, Rrajcës Mountain – The fire is present in the eastern part of Skenderbeg village. The danger to the national park of Shebenik-Jabllanicë has been avoided. The situation is under control and currently, the firefighters of Prrenjas are working in the terrain.

Dibra Region
1. Dibra Municipality, administrative unit of Selishtë, Qafë Murrë, Kacni – The situation is under control, structures of the local government are working on extinguishing the fire.

Gjirokastra Region
1. Memaliaj Municipality, administrative unit of Krahës, the fire in Allkomemaj village is already extinguished.
