Current wildfire situation in Albanian Republic, 22 August 2021

Shkodra Region

1. Malësi e Madhe Municipality, the fire is still present in Vorfa village, the administrative unit of Gruemir. The fire\ progressed towards Maranajt Mountain, an area with forests and bushes. The terrain is very rugged and difficult to intervene from the ground and at a distance of about 4 hours of walking. Observers from the Forest Service have been sent to the fire spot. There is no more danger to the mountain ranches due to the intervention of the inhabitants of the area. The situation is being monitored.

2. Pukë Municipality, Qershizë, Fushë – Kumulli - There are about 50 troops from the Armed Forces, firefighters, and forest service employees working to keep the situation under control.

3. Fushë - Arrëz Municipality, the fire situation in Flet village is at ease, the perimeter of the burned area is being monitored and kept under control by the employees of the administrative unit of Blerim and the forest service.

In Srriqe village, the administrative unit of Qafë - Mali, the fire was controlled by the Dutch helicopter and there is no danger to the dwellings. The fire is being monitored by local firefighters.

Kukës Region

5. At top of Rruna, in the place called “Laku i Thive” the administrative unit of Malzi, the fire is still problematic at Maja e Zezë. Around 50 troops of the AF, firefighters, and employees of the forest service are working in terrain. A Dutch helicopter also intervened in support of the operation. The current situation is problematic, as another fire has spread towards Maja e Zeze, the territory of the Puka municipality.

6. In Morina Village, Korab - Koritnik area, the fire has been totally isolated. It is being monitored by the local administrative authorities of Kukës.

Lezha Region

7. The fire in the village of Katund i Vjetër, administrative unit of Rubik, Mirdita Municipality, is under control, and it is being monitored by the forest specialists and the residents.

The fire in the neighborhood of Sage, Thirrë village, administrative unit of Fan, Mirdita Municipality is under control and at no danger to the dwellings. The firefighter forces are working on the ground.

Dibra Region

8. The fire spot in Kaçni village, administrative unit of Selishtë is isolated thoroughly, is completely isolated. It continues to burn slowly within its perimeter. Now it is under the monitor of employees of the administrative unit.
