Defence Minister Mr. Peleshi and the Chief of AAFGS Major General Begaj host in a meeting the Commander of the NATO Joint Air Operations Center

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Assoc. Prof. Bajram Begaj, hosted in a meeting the Commander of the NATO Joint Air Operations Center, Lieutenant General Fernando De La Cruz Caravaca, who is paying an official visit to Albania.

Minister Peleshi thanked General Caravaca for the work he and his staff are doing for the NATO airspace surveillance and policing, and in particular, thanked our neighbors, Italy and Greece, for their contribution to our country's airspace policing.

Furthermore, Defence Minister briefed General Caravaca on the progress of the Kuçova Air Base project, as well as the other ongoing modernization projects, especially those related to the Air Force, with a special focus on the functioning of the Radar of Mida.

For his part, General Caravaca assured Minister Peleshi that the staff of the NATO Joint Air Operations Center will continue to carry out the mission with dedication, to be at the height of the challenges facing NATO. Also, General Caravaca expressed his readiness to welcome the commitment of our country, through the Radar of Mida, to contribute to the creation of the fullest possible common image of the airspace of the Alliance.
