The Naval Force new Commander, Peleshi: Rear Admiral Agastra, is the guarantee for the consolidation of achievements

Rear Admiral Adnand Agastra officially took over the post of Commander of the Albanian Naval Force, in a ceremony attended by Defence Minister Niko Peleshi, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Manushaqe Shehu, force commanders and Naval Force military.
The assignment was handed over to Admiral Agastra by his predecessor, Brigadier General Ilir Xhebexhia who also handed over the combat flag of the Naval Force.
Defense Minister Niko Peleshi thanked Brigadier General Xhebexhia for his contribution so far at the helm of the Naval Force and expressed confidence that the new commander has all the capabilities to further the achievements of this force.

"Congratulating Brigadier General Xhebexhia on a successful continuation in other tasks of his military career, I am convinced that he feels honored to relinquish his position to one of the prominent professionals with high ambitions to do the best, such as Rear Admiral Agastra. With a long and dignified career, with a commitment, experience and contribution in almost every field and level of activity of the Armed Forces in general, and the Navy in particular, in Albania and abroad, Rear Admiral Agastra, is the safety and guarantee of all for the consolidation of achievements, further progress and accomplishment of tasks.

Minister Peleshi also spoke about the advantages promised by the increased Defense budget, both in the modernization of the Armed Forces and in the financial treatment of the military:

“It will be a year with many challenges. Of course we have a budget 32% higher than last year's budget, we have 65% more budget for the modernization of the Armed Forces, we have a salary system for this year planned in the budget of 30% more at all levels starting from the basic soldier to the general, which means the financial part in addition to the moral part, will give more motivation to the young men and women and all members of the Armed Forces to contribute."

The new commander, Rear Admiral Agastra, also emphasized the modernization of the NF, which, as he said, aims to increase the capacity of our navy's ships, not only as a necessity to increase national security, but also to contribute to the Alliance.
Rear Admiral Adnand Agastra, with the proposal of the Minister of Defense, was appointed Commander of the Navy by decree of the President of the Republic, becoming the 19th commander of the Albanian Navy.
