Special Forces challenge terrain and snow, unusual exercise in Voskopoja

In difficult weather conditions, cold temperatures, and snow, Special Forces personnel were trained for the first time only with their personal equipment, in Voskopoja, Korça.

This exercise, codenamed "Selita 02", aimed at testing capabilities away from permanent deployment.

The elite troops challenged the mountainous terrain and extreme weather of Voskopoja and in addition to the already common actions, special skiing tactics were practiced. Lieutenant Colonel Ajet Jata, Commander of the Special Forces Battalion explains that “Special Forces for the first time are trained in a difficult terrain only with their personal equipment adapting to the environment. Special Forces and their role is growing. We see this in all the activities and dimensions of the Special Forces and the commitments they have in the world today. We are also on the right track, as we are increasing our capabilities day by day and aim to create a special force that is capable of carrying out special tasks with a full spectrum of combat."

The objectives of the exercise are special reconnaissance, crossing into the opponent's rear lines, direct strikes, search-and-rescue, ambushes, counter-ambushes, tracking, and counter-tracking.
